Sean Loughland is the Principal Lawyer at Xemplo Legal (formerly EPG Migration), a legal practice specialising in workforce mobility, employer-sponsored migration, employment law, and workforce compliance. He currently leads the firm’s employer-sponsored migration practice, advising organisations on Australian workforce planning, mobility strategies, sponsorship obligations, and compliance requirements.
With over a decade’s experience in migration law, Sean has worked across private practice, corporate migration, and community legal services. Prior to joining then-EPG Migration, he held senior roles at Integrate Legal and Visa Lawyers Australia, in addition to tenures with the Refugee Advice and Casework Service.
Sean’s expertise spans complex workforce mobility programs – including high-volume sponsorship arrangements and employer-sponsored visa pathways such as the subclass 482, 494, and 186 programs. He has notably advised organisations across sectors such as technology, manufacturing, hospitality, professional services, and other businesses leveraging Employer of Record arrangements.
Renowned for his practical and solutions-focused approach, Sean has built a reputation upon helping employers navigate the intersection of migration, employment, and workforce compliance requirements. His work primarily focuses on identifying risks early, strengthening both sponsorship and compliance processes, as well as developing workforce mobility strategies that support broader organisational goals.
Sean holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Technology Sydney and was named a 2021 finalist in the Lawyers Weekly 30 Under 30 Awards for Migration Law. He has also volunteered with Welcoming Australia, contributing to programs focused on inclusion and community participation.
