Nu-Space Projects is a multidisciplinary construction group comprised of specialist design, joinery, and building teams that deliver end-to-end projects. With three distinct entities under one umbrella, the Australian business combines on site delivery with office based expertise – ensuring a seamless client experience from concept through to completion, while maintaining both the flexibility and precision of specialist trades.
Nu-Space Projects comprises three closely aligned entities operating across Construction, Design, and Joinery. Each branch entails its own workforce profile, delivery rhythm, and administrative requirements, from project-based site crews to office-based teams.
While payroll was outsourced, all the surrounding work – employment contracts, job descriptions, onboarding documentation, and approvals – was still managed internally (and largely by hand). This led to inconsistent document formats and versions, a heavy reliance on email chains and spreadsheets, and growing allocations of time spent reconciling fragmented information.
As the group scaled, maintaining alignment and visibility across all three entities became increasingly difficult, underscoring the need for a unified workforce management system.

Nu-Space Projects implemented Xemplo to centralise onboarding, contracts, payroll coordination, and workforce administration. Where they were previously at the mercy of disconnected spreadsheets and endless email threads, they now leverage a single, intelligent platform to standardise the group’s core processes and organise workforce data.
Xemplo brought all three businesses into one system with consistent employment records, contracts, and onboarding workflows. This reduced data duplication and ensured that key employment processes followed the same structure everywhere (regardless of workforce type or operating model).
Employment contracts and onboarding documentation had been a major source of manual effort – especially when it came to formatting and version control. With Xemplo, these processes were consolidated and standardised, removing rework or reformatting from the equation while giving Nu Space confidence that documentation remains aligned with group expectations.
Nu-Space Projects previously relied on an external managed payroll provider. They transitioned to Xemplo’s managed payroll service, marrying a dedicated payroll team with a central platform for onboarding, contracts, and payroll coordination.
Now that administrative overhead has been significantly lowered, internal effort has shifted away from spreadsheet coordination and email-based verification toward a structured workflow. In hard metrics, payroll-related admin time has decreased from approximately 2-3 hours per cycle to around 60-90 minutes (without sacrificing either support or visibility).
Workforce and payroll data were once scattered across multiple tools and communication channels. With Xemplo, leadership now also has a consolidated view of workforce activity and documentation status, enabling better decision-making and minimising uncertainty around whether information is current and complete.
The initial rollout was tailored to reflect the group’s multi-entity structure, along with hands-on support to configure workflows in line with Nu Space’s operational requirements.
